Getting around Brisbane has never been easier. All TransLink services – trains, buses, and ferries – now feature upgraded payment systems, so delegates can simply tap on and tap off with a debit or credit card. No extra travel card is needed,however if you prefer a Travel Card (GoCard)is also available for purchase at major train stations, selected retailers, and convenience stores across Brisbane. It’s an excellent option for those planning multiple trips.

And here’s the best part: Translink fares are just 50 centsone way. Yes, you read that right- travel from Brisbane City to the Gold Coast or even Gympie for only 50 cents! Affordable, convenient, and stress-free travel means you can explore more during your stay. Tip: Remember to tap on at the start and tap off at the end of your journey – otherwise, a $2.50 fare will apply.

Airtrain provides convenient rail transport between Brisbane’s Domestic and International Airports and the city. MMIRA 2026 delegates will also be able to access discounted Airtrain tickets (at a cost of $16 one way or $32 return per person) 4 days prior and post conference (travel between 20 Aug to 31 Aug 2026), when travelling from either airport terminal. A discount code will be emailed to participants upon registration and prior to the conference.
